San Diego Metro Report: December 2019

The Zumper San Diego Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in November 2019 across 12 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,762 last month.

The Most Expensive

–Coronado was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,980.

–Carlsbad rent dropped 4.8% to $1,970 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Encinitas was third with rent at $1,940.

The Least Expensive

–El Cajon ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,300.

–Escondido was second with rent at $1,440.

–Imperial Beach rent down dropped 0.7% to $1,450 and was the third least expensive in the metro.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Coronado had the fastest growing rent, up 13.3% since this time last year.

–Vista saw rent climb 9.6%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Encinitas was third with rent climbing 8.4%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Encinitas had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.9%.

–Chula Vista rent jumped 1.9% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
