The Zumper San Diego Metro Report analyzed active listings in July across 14 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.

Le plus cher

Solana Beach, CA was the most expensive city to rent in the metro area with one bedrooms priced at $2,300.

Encinitas, CA rent grew $20 since last month to $1,800 and ranked as the second most expensive.

Carlsbad, CA was third with rent at $1,700.

Le moins cher

National City, CA rent, although growing $60 since last month, remained the least expensive in the metro area.

El Cajon, CA ranked as second least expensive with rent at $1,220.

Imperial Beach, CA was close behind El Cajon with one bedrooms priced at $1,250.

Escondido, CA rent had the second largest yearly growth rate of 13.8%.

Carlsbad, CA ranked as third with rent climbing 11.8% since this time last year.

National City, CA had the fastest growing rent since last month, up 5.3%.

La Mesa, CA followed closely behind with a 5.1% monthly growth rate.
