The Zumper Salt Lake City Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in January 2020 across 11 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Utah one bedroom median rent was $963 last month.

The Most Expensive
–Salt Lake City was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,130.
–Sandy rent grew 3.4% to $1,120 and ranked as the second priciest.
–Orem was third with rent at $1,010.
The Least Expensive
–Cedar City ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $540.
–Ogden was second with rent at $760.
–South Salt rent remained flat at $830 and as the third least expensive.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Cedar City had the fastest growing rent, up 14.9% since this time last year.
–Salt Lake City saw rent climb 5.6%, making it the second fastest growing.
–Murray followed closely as third with rent increasing 5.5%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Murray had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.5%.
–Orem rent jumped 5.2% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
-Provo was third with rent climbing 4.8%.
