Portland ranked as the 17th most expensive city to rent in the nation this month. The price of one bedroom units fell 0.7% to a median of $1,380, while two bedroom units climbed 1.3% to $1,620. Despite relatively flat rent trends this month, the city still came ahead of Providence, Atlanta, and Long Beach in our most recent list of rent prices across the U.S.

At a median of $2,150 for one bedroom units, Pearl continued to reign as the most expensive neighborhood to rent this fall. A few hundred dollars behind, Old Town – Chinatown, Downtown Portland, and Corbet – Terwilliger – Lair Hill were the next priciest areas. Across the river, more affordable neighborhoods priced at less than $1,100 a month for one bedroom units could be found in areas like Creston – Kenilworth and Reed.
The areas with the fastest growing rents were Woodstock and Brooklyn, both up around 10% since last quarter.
