Phoenix Metro Report: January 2020

The Zumper Phoenix Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in December 2019 across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Arizona one bedroom median rent was $993 last month.

The Most Expensive

–Scottsdale was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,490.

–Flagstaff rent increased 0.7% to $1,350 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Gilbert was third with rent settling at $1,240.

The Least Expensive

–Mesa dropped two spots to become the most affordable city with rent falling 2.2% to $900.

–Prescott was second with rent growing 4.6% to $910.

–Glendale ranked as third with one bedrooms priced at $930.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Flagstaff had the fastest growing rent, up 14.4% since this time last year.

–Surprise saw rent climb 13.5%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Glendale followed closely behind as was third with rent jumping 13.4%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Lake Havasu City had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.7%.

–Prescott rent jumped 4.6% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Scottsdale ranked as third with rent climbing 2.8%.
