The Zumper Phoenix Metro Report analyzed active listings in March 2019 across 11 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Arizona one bedroom median was $951 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

Scottsdale, AZ saw rent grow $10 to $1,380 but stay the most expensive city.

Chandler & Gilbert, AZ tied for second with one bedrooms both priced at $1,160.

Peoria, AZ followed as the next priciest with rent at $1,040.

The Least Expensive

Glendale, AZ one bedroom rent dropped $30 to $780 and continued to rank as the most affordable in the metro.

Mesa, AZ was the second least expensive with rent at $910.

Avondale, AZ rent dropped $10 to $950 but remained third.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Chandler, AZ had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 10.5%.

Gilbert, AZ rent was the second fastest growing, climbing 8.4%.

Goodyear, AZ had the third largest year over year rental growth rate, jumping 7.4%.
