Phoenix Metro Report: April 2017

The Zumper Phoenix Metro Report analyzed over 22,000 active listings in March across 12 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Most Expensive

Scottsdale, AZ topped the list as the most expensive city to rent in the metro area with one bedrooms priced at a median of $1,260.

Gilbert, AZ took second place with a median rent of $1,010.

– Chandler, AZ ranked third with rent at $950.

Least Expensive

Casa Grande, AZ, once again, was the most affordable city in the Phoenix metro area. Median rent here was $550.

Glendale, AZ was the second least expensive city at $700.

Mesa, AZ followed closely behind as third with rent at $790.

Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

– Tempe, AZ continued to have fast growth in rent as prices were up 15% compared to last year.

– Scottsdale, AZ had the second fastest year over year growth at 14.5% .

– Avondale, AZ rent was the third fastest growing, climbing 11.3% since last year.

Fastest Growing (M/M%)

– Scottsdale, AZ also had considerable month over month growth at 5%.

Avondale, AZ rent was the second fastest growing, climbing 4.7%.

– Phoenix, Arizona prices ranked third, up 3.6% since last month.
