The Zumper Minneapolis Metro Report analyzed active listings in May across 13 metro cities to calculate median rent and to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.
Cities Ranked By Rent
Le plus cher
–Apple Valley, MN climbed one spot this month and became the most expensive city to rent in the metro. One bedroom units were priced at a median of $1,270.
–Edina & Woodbury, MN were tied for second with rent at $1,250.
–Minneapolis, MN fell 2 spots and became the third priciest city with rent at $1,220.

–Coon Rapids, MN stayed the most affordable city with rent at $840.
–St. Paul, MN rent also stayed flat this month at $900.
–Burnsville, MN prices grew a slight $10 to $980, but remained the third most expensive city to rent.

–Maple Grove, MN rent was the fastest growing since last year, up a staggering 15.5%.
–Apple Valley, MN followed behind with a 14.4% yearly growth rate.
–Eagan, MN had the third fastest growing rent, up 10.7% since this time last year.

–Bloomington, MN rent had the largest monthly growth rate at 5.1%.
–Maple Grove, MN was second with a 4.7% monthly growth rate.
–Woodbury, MN rent climbed 4.2% since last month, making it the third fastest growing.
