Washington D.C. ranked as the 7th most expensive rental market in the nation last month with the price of one and two bedroom units settling at $2,130 and $2,650, respectively. Notably, on a year over year basis, one bedroom rent is down 8.6% and two bedroom rent is down 13.4%.

While Friendship Heights et Berkley had the fastest growing rents since last quarter, both up over 11%, Glover Park et Foggy Bottom saw the largest rent dips, down around 5%.
This winter, Georgetown continued to reign as the most expensive neighborhood with one bedroom rent at $2,800. Priced at $2,400 and above, Logan Circle – Shaw, Barnaby Woods, et Dupont Circle were the next priciest areas to rent. More affordable rentals priced under the $2,000 threshold could be found in Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, and Stadium Armory or Kingman Park.
