Mapping Philly Rent Prices This Fall (October 2016)

Climbing a spot this month, Philadelphia became the 15th most expensive rental market in the nation. The price of one bedroom units grew 4.5% to a median of $1,400, while two bedrooms jumped 4.7% to $1,570. Since this time last year, two bedroom prices are up over 12%.

At a median of $1,900 a month for one bedroom units, University City was the most expensive neighborhood to rent this fall. Close behind, Logan Square ($1,830), Center City West ($1,800), and Northern Liberties – Fishtown ($1,690) were the next priciest areas. Some mid-range priced rentals, for less than $1,100, could be found in Point Breeze, South Philadelphia West, and South Philadelphia East.
Rentals priced for less than $700 a month could be found in neighboring Camden, New Jersey and include Cooper Point, Central Waterfront, and Downtown Camden.
