Mapping Minneapolis Rent Prices This Summer (June 2016)

Minneapolis ranked as the 15th most expensive city to rent in the U.S. this May, coming ahead of Denver and Baltimore in our most recent national rent report. In the month, one bedroom units rose 2.4% to a median of $1,260, while two bedroom units dipped 2.7% to a median of $1,460.

At a neighborhood level, Downtown East ($1,800) was the most expensive area for renters this summer. Downtown West ($1,610), Uptown ($1,600), and Warehouse District ($1,600) were the next priciest neighborhoods to rent. Adjacent to the Warehouse District but on the other end of the cost spectrum, Near North ($600), Hawthorne ($630), and Willard Hay ($700) were the most affordable Minneapolis neighborhoods.
Mid priced rentals, spanning from $900 to $1,100, could be found in and around Whittier, Phillips, and Mid-City Industrial.
