Mapping Houston Rent Prices This Fall (September 2016)

Houston ranked as the 36th most expensive city to rent in the U.S. this month, with the price of one bedroom units at a median of $960 and two bedroom units at $1,200. Although rent prices were fairly flat, Houston still came ahead of Raleigh, Chandler, and Virginia Beach in our list of most recent rent prices across the country.

The Museum District continued to reign as the most expensive neighborhood to rent this fall, with a median monthly price of $1,870 for one bedroom units. A few hundred dollars behind, Downtown Houston ($1,600), Hunter Creek Village ($1,485) and Greenway – Upper Kirby ($1,390) were the next priciest areas.
More affordable rentals, priced under $1,000, could be found in and around Greater Fifth Ward, Spring Branch East, and Lawndate – Wayside.
