Mapping D.C. Neighborhood Rent Prices (Summer 2018)

Falling one spot last month, D.C. became the 7th most expensive city to rent in the nation, right behind Oakland. One bedroom rent fell 2.7% to $2,140, while two bedrooms dropped 3.2% to $2,680. Notably, on a year over year basis, two bedroom rent is down 16% since this time last year.

While Ledroit Park and Logan Circle – Shaw had the fastest growing rents this quarter, both up around 10%, Anacostia saw the biggest rent dip, down 7%.

This summer, Dupont CircleGeorgetown , and Logan Circle – Shaw tied for the most expensive neighborhood with rents all at $2,500. Ranging between $2,300- $2,400, Downtown, Capitol Hill, and Mount Vernon Square were the next priciest areas.

More affordable areas, priced under $1,700, could be found in Foxhall Village, Berkley, and Chevy Chase.
