Mapping Austin Rent Prices This Summer (July 2016)

Jumping a spot this month, Austin became the 24th most expensive rental market in the nation, now tied with Madison. One bedroom units were priced at a median of $1,110 and two bedroom units at $1,450.

At a median price of $1,860 for one bedroom units, Downtown Austin was the most expensive neighborhood to rent this summer. The next priciest areas, ranging from the low to mid $1,600’s, were Old West Austin, East Cesar Chavez, and Boudin Creek. More affordable options priced below $1,000 included Montropolis ($960), Windsor Park ($950), and University of Texas – Austin ($940).
