Mapping Austin Rent Prices This Fall (October 2016)

Austin ranked as the 26th most expensive city to rent in the U.S this month, with the price of one bedroom units at a median of $1,120 and two bedroom units at $1,430. This city came ahead of Nashville, Baltimore, and Plano in our most recent national rent report.

This fall, Downtown Austin ($1,880) was the most expensive neighborhood to rent in. Old West Austin ($1,615), Central East Austin ($1,550), and Zilker ($1,550) were the next priciest areas. Some mid-range priced rentals, a few hundred dollars less than the most expensive neighborhoods, that are still close to the bustling city center included West UniversityOld Enfield, and South River City.
