Los Angeles rounded out the top 5 markets nationally with one bedroom rent decreasing 1.3% last month to $2,250, while two bedrooms fell 2.3% to $3,030. Notably, on a year over year basis, two bedroom rent is down nearly 8%. Seeing Los Angeles have declining rates on all fronts in summer moving season much relief to renters as prices here have mainly been on an upward trend the past few years.

While Bel Air – Beverly Crest and Atwater Village had the fastest growing rents this summer, both up over 11%, Greater Wilshire and Ladera Heights saw the largest rent dips, down 13% and 9%, respectively.
On the Westside, Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, and Venice continued to rank as the top 3 priciest areas with rents at or above the $3,000 threshold. Meanwhile, Pacific Palisades ($2,900) moved up to be the next most expensive with Bel Air – Beverly Crest ($2,850), Downtown Los Angeles ($2,775), and Beverly Hills ($2,695) trailing closely behind.
Mid-range priced rentals at just under $2,000 could be found in Greater Wilshire, PICO, and South Robertson.
Central Alameda ($1,250) and Florence – Graham ($1,350) continued to be the most affordable neighborhoods.
