MAP: Detroit Neighborhood Rent Prices (Fall 2018)

Dropping 5 spots this past month, Detroit ranked as the 99th most expensive rental market in the nation. One bedroom rent fell 4.8% to $600, while two bedrooms decreased 2.8% to $700. Though on a downward trend on a monthly basis, one bedroom rent is actually up 9.1% since this time last year.

Similar to last quarter, Downtown Detroit, which encompasses Central Business District, Lower East Central, and Near East Riverfront on our map, was the priciest neighborhood to rent this fall. Lower Woodward – University, Indian Village, and Jeffries, all priced above $900, were the next most expensive areas.

Rentals priced closer to the city one bedroom median of $600 could be found in McNichols, Davison, and Kettering-butzel.
