Los Angeles Rent Prices Mapped This Spring (March 2017)

Tied with Oakland, Los Angeles ranked as the 6th most expensive rental market in the nation this March. The price of one bedroom units settled at a median of $2,000, while two bedroom units reached $2,920. Since this time last year, rents for both bedroom types are up over 5%.

Although Santa Monica, Venice, and Marina del Rey were the priciest areas to rent on the map, the most expensive Los Angeles neighborhoods this spring were Westwood ($2,625), Downtown Los Angeles ($2,600), and Bel Air-Beverly Crest ($2,300). More affordable rentals, priced at less than $1,600, could be found in areas like Greater Cypress Park, West Adams, and Westlake.

Park Mesa Heights and UNNC had the fastest growing rents, both up over 8% since last quarter.
