The Zumper Los Angeles Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in September 2019 across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,811 last month.

–Santa Monica was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,160.

–Beverly Hills rent dropped 4.9% to $2,740 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–West Hollywood was third with rent priced at $2,600.

–Lancaster ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,260.

–Riverside was second with rent at $1,360.

–Hawthorne ranked as third with rent down 0.7% to $1,440.

–Newport Beach had the fastest growing rent, up 14.4% since this time last year.

–Riverside saw rent climb 9.7%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Lancaster was third with rent growing 9.6%.

–Burbank had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 3.5%.

–Orange rent jumped 3.2% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Inglewood ranked as third with rent up 2.7%.
