The Zumper Los Angeles Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in October 2019 across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,795 last month.

The Most Expensive
–Santa Monica was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $3,110.
–Beverly Hills rent grew 2.6% to $2,810 and ranked as the second priciest city.
–West Hollywood was third with rent priced at $2,710.
The Least Expensive
–Riverside ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,330.
–Hawthorne was second with rent at $1,450.
–Inglewood was third with rent dropping 1.9% to $1,510.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Newport Beach had the fastest growing rent, up 15.8% since this time last year.
–Monterey Park saw rent climb 11.3%, making it the second fastest growing.
–Garden Grove was third with rent growing 7.5%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Redondo Beach had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.2%.
–Monterey Park rent jumped 5.0% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
–West Hollywood ranked as third with rent up 4.2%.
