The Zumper Los Angeles Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in December 2019 across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,763 last month.
The Most Expensive
–Santa Monica was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,980.
–Beverly Hills rent grew 2.1% to $2,890 and ranked as the second priciest city.
–West Hollywood was third with rent at $2,630.
The Least Expensive
–San Bernardino ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $980.
–Riverside was second with rent at $1,370.
–Murrieta ranked as the third least expensive with rent at $1,500.
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Newport Beach had the fastest growing rent, up 14.9% since this time last year.
–San Bernardino saw rent climb 8.9%, making it the second fastest growing.
–Riverside was third with rent increasing 7.9%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Glendale had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.1%.
–Oxnard and Newport Beach rents both jumped 5.0% last month, making them tied for the second fastest growing.
–Riverside ranked as third with rent climbing 4.6%.
