The Zumper Los Angeles Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in November 2019 across 30 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The California one bedroom median rent was $1,762 last month.

The Most Expensive
–Santa Monica was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,990.
–Beverly Hills rent increased 0.7% to $2,830 and ranked as the second priciest city.
–West Hollywood was third with rent at $2,630.
The Least Expensive
–Riverside ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,310.
–Hawthorne was second with rent at $1,470.
–Inglewood rent dropped 0.7% to $1,500 and ranked as the third least expensive.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Newport Beach had the fastest growing rent, up 15.7% since this time last year.
–Arcadia saw rent climb 15.5%, making it the second fastest growing.
–Laguna Beach was third with rent growing 6.4%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Alhambra had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.8%.
–Pasadena rent jumped 4.1% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
–Orange ranked as third with rent up 3.1%.
