The Zumper Houston Metro Report analyzed active listings in June across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive 

–Houston, Texas remained the most expensive, with one bedroom units priced at a median of $1,130.

–Sugar Land, TX median rent price was up to $1,100, coming in at second.

–Missouri City, TX, close behind, was the third priciest city with a median rent of $1,100.

The Least Expensive

–Pasadena, TX kept its ranking as the least expensive city to rent with one bedroom units priced at $700.

–Conroe, TX had the second most affordable rent at $850.

–Baytown, TX was the third, with median rent for one bedroom units at $880.

Yearly Growth Rate

 

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Houston, Texas rents were up by 15.3% compared to this time last year, making them the fastest growing in the metro.

–Pasadena, TX median rent had a 14.8% yearly growth rate.

–Baytown, TX ranked as third, experienced 12.8% yearly growth rate.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–League City, TX had the largest monthly growth rate, up 5.4%.

–The Woodlands, TX ranked as the second, seeing a monthly growth rate 5.1%.

–Sugar Land, TX rents grew by 4.7% compared to last month, ranking as the third.
