The Zumper Houston Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in December 2019 across 11 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas one bedroom median rent was $937 last month.

The Most Expensive
–Missouri City was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,140.
–Pearland and Sugar Land rents tied as the second priciest in the metro, both at $1,110.
–Houston was third with rent at $1,030.
The Least Expensive
–Huntsville ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $630.
–Pasadena rent dropped 2.5% to $770 and was the second least expensive.
–Texas City ranked as third with rent at $850.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Baytown had the fastest growing rent, up 16.0% since this time last year.
–Galveston saw rent climb 7.1%, making it the second fastest growing.
–Pearland and Sugar Land were tied for third with rent both increasing 4.7%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–League City had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 2.1%.
–Huntsville rent jumped 1.6% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
–Conroe ranked as third with rent increasing 1.1%.
