The Zumper Houston Metro Report analyzed active listings in December across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas state median for one bedroom units was $924 last month.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Houston, Texas rent remained flat at $1,260 and also as the most expensive in the metro.
–Sugar Land, TX prices grew $20 to $1,170 and ranked as the second priciest.
–Missouri City, TX was third with rent at $1,080.
The Least Expensive
–Pasadena, TX was the most affordable city in the metro with one bedrooms priced at $700.
–Baytown, TX rent ranked as second least expensive at $750.
–Conroe, TX fell behind Spring last month to rank as the third most affordable city with rent falling 4.2% to $920.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Sugar Land, TX had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, climbing 11.4%.
–Houston, Texas rent had the second largest yearly rental growth rate, up 11.4%.
