The Zumper Houston Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in January 2020 across 9 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas one bedroom median rent was $945 last month.

The Most Expensive
–Missouri City and Sugar Land were the most expensive cities with one bedrooms both priced at $1,170.
–Pearland rent grew 0.9% to $1,120 and ranked as the second priciest city.
–Houston was third with rent at $1,070.
The Least Expensive
–Huntsville ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $630.
–Pasadena was second with rent at $790.
–Baytown rent stayed flat at $870 and ranked as the third least expensive.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Baytown had the fastest growing rent, up 16.0% since this time last year.
–Pearland saw rent climb 8.7%, making it the second fastest growing.
–Galveston was third with rent jumping 7.1%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Sugar Land had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.4%.
–Houston rent jumped 3.9% last month, making it the second.
–Conroe ranked as third with rent increasing 3.2%.
