The Zumper Houston Metro Report analyzed active listings in November across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas state median for one bedroom units was $924 last month.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Houston, Texas rent grew $60 to $1,260 and continued to reign as the most expensive in the metro.
–Sugar Land, TX saw prices bump up 4.5% to $1,150 and ranked as second.
–Missouri City, TX followed closely behind as third with rent priced at $1,130.
The Least Expensive
–Pasadena, TX rent stayed at $700 and also as the least expensive in the metro.
–Baytown, TX prices, though falling 1.7% to $750, continued to rank as the second least expensive.
–Spring, TX was third with one bedrooms priced at $920.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Houston, Texas had the largest yearly rental growth rate in the metro, up 15.6%.
–Conroe, TX rent was the second fastest growing, climbing 14.3% since this time last year.
–League City, TX ranked as third with rent up 13%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Houston, Texas also had the largest monthly rental growth rate, climbing 5%.
–Missouri City, TX followed closely behind as second with prices jumping 4.6%.
–Sugar Land & Spring, TX were tied for third with 4.5% rental growth rates.
