Denver’s beer scene rivals some of the best in the country. Home to hundreds of breweries, the Denver area is, quite literally, overflowing with world-class beers. Plus, every year Denver hosts the Great American Beer Festival, so you know it doesn’t mess around when it comes to its brews. And yet, even with such a packed lineup, there are still new spots popping up all over the city. Here are some of the best new Denver breweries you need to get yourself to before everyone else finds out about them.
Woods Boss Brewing
This place may be located in the heart of Denver, but take a step inside and you’ll be transported to the mountains. Woods Boss Brewing has a rustic interior that celebrates Colorado’s great outdoors, and its beers follow suit. In the Carpal Tunnel Pale Ale, you’ll taste heavy notes of pine and stone fruits, while the Juniperus Triticum will impress you with its Junipero Berry-forward flavor. Order a pint and grab a seat at one of the tabletops, on the leather couches, or at the picnic tables outside. There’s not a bad seat in the house.
Live music and yoga sessions happen throughout the week, so be sure to check out their calendar of events to see what’s on tap. Truthfully, it’s easy to spend a day kicked back at this buzzing brewery all day, but then you’d be missing out on all the other great Denver breweries!
Zuni Street Brewing Co.

Serving up anywhere between 15 and 20 beers at a time, Zuni Street Brewing Co. recently earned 303 Magazine’s Best New Brewery Award. Not only do they pour up lots of beer varieties, their brew is pretty sensational, too. Their flagship, Sit N’ Rock Ale has it all: the hops of a Pale Ale, a fruity aroma, and a smooth finish.
Although it opened just less than a year ago, Zuni Street is making waves with the locals. Daily food trucks serve up food, yoga and beer events start early on the weekends, and an awesome outdoor patio lets patrons enjoy their brew in the Colorado sunshine. Plus, the brewery offers a Homebrew Workshop where you and some friends can learn all about the process, from the experts. Zuni Street Brewing has managed to produce some incredible beers while remaining unpretentious; it’s a brewery, sure, but it’s also become a watering hole for the Lower Highlands community.
The Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project
Beers inspired by international spices and flavors draw a major crowd at this brewery in the Denver Arts District. Imagine sipping on a smooth beer sprinkled with hints of Medjool dates and roasted Palisades peaches or Indian chai and lavender. Well, that’s what you can expect at the Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project. Co-owners Ben Gettinger and Andrew Moore utilize their travel experiences to influence their brew recipes, and beer drinkers get to reap the benefits.
Visit the brewery and catch a free show when they host their Obscure Sojourn Speaker Series and take your drink outside on the brewery’s huge patio. Whatever you do, be sure to try their Hickory Peach Wee Heavy, which won the Silver Medal for Experimental Beer at the 2018 World Beer Cup.
Novel Strand Brewing Co.
Brewer-owned-and-operated, Novel Strand is a new spot bringing diversity to Historic Baker neighborhood — in more ways than one. Two of three co-owners are females and women of color, and their beers are often made with unique hops from all over the globe. Choose half pours or full pints, grab food from the food vendor of the day, and enjoy your beer in this true neighborhood brewery.
Dos Luces Brewery
Denver’s Historic South Broadway neighborhood is preparing to get a gem when Dos Luces Brewery makes its home there in the coming weeks. This place brews both its flagship beers from corn, unlike other beers that are made with wheat, creating their own variation of Chicha and Pulque, two traditional, Mexican-style beers. Both beers are naturally gluten-free, so gluten-intolerant folks have something to look forward to, too. Try them now at The Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project for an early tasting. Dos Luces Brewery’s expected opening date is June 2018, so keep this one on your radar and be one of its first customers.

Cerveceria Colorado
We couldn’t resist, so here’s one more. The new offshoot of Denver Brewery boasts incredible beers and an outdoor patio to match. From the Horchata Blonde Ale to the spicy Poblano Pilsner, the Cerveceria incorporates Mexican flavors into their beers in ways you’d never thought of before. Their festively-decorated outdoor patio in LoDo is the perfect neighborhood setting for enjoying one of their brews or a flight of 5 of them. Come Wednesdays for Taco Night and get the Al Pastor with fresh pineapple; it pairs well with..just about everything.
