DIY: Upcycled Glass Bottles

rsz_finishedupcycledglassbottlesSmallerjpg
We have a lot of empty glass bottles lying around at Zumper from all the drinks we have. What better way to clear the clutter by making these cute upcycled bottles that’ll add some more color to your office or home! You can use them as vases, pencil holders, or another desk accessory. These are seriously easy and will take less than five minutes to complete.
The things you’ll need for this DIY you’ll need:
1. Empty glass bottles (we’re using Plentea for ours)
2. Stickers (or anything else to decorate with)
3. Paint (we’re using our signature Zumper blue)
4. Disposable bowl (if mixing colors)
5. Paper towels
6. Paint mixer

  1. Clean your glass bottles so that you won’t have any residue showing when the paint is on. Once the paint is on, it’s on forever!
  1. Mix your color! We already had leftover paint (recycle everything!) so we are just using that. If you are mixing colors, mix them in the bowl so that your color will be consistent through the bottle.
  1. Using the paint mixer, slowly pour the paint into the bottle. If you pour too much, it’s okay– use the leftover paint in your bottle to pout into another bottle you’re going to use!
  1. Roll your paint inside the glass bottle by flipping and rotating the bottle. Make sure you get every nook, or else it’ll be noticeable.
  1. Once you cover every the whole bottle in paint, flip it upside down for 10 minutes so the excess paint will drip out.
  1. While the bottle dries, decorate it how ever you desire! Our Zumper stickers are so cute that I had to use them for this project.
  1. Set it aside to dry. Leave them alone for a couple of days, so that your paint will be 100% dry before you put anything in them.
  1. Enjoy! You’ve now upgraded from your regular clear glass to a cute accessory for yourself. Go ahead and put some flowers, pens, or flower pens!
