I would call myself a pretty responsible person to begin with, but there are times when I forget things. One thing I never want to forget at home is the key to get back in. You can never be too prepared in situations like this, so I have made a way that I will always have a way back in! No more breaking in through the back windows, or leaving it under the mat- we’re going to leave it in plain sight where no one will suspect a thing!

Things you need:
- Small container
- Super glue
- Common wildlife object (stones, nuts, flowers, etc.)
Amount of time: 10 minutes total
Directions:
- Go outside to see what’s common in your front yard or garden. Find something that is very common, like a couple of rocks, branches, etc. I took a nut from the tree that grows in the front of my home because there are a lot scattered in the area.

2) Find an empty container from your home that is small enough to be hidden, yet large enough to hide your valuables. I just recycled a small medicine bottle from my cabinet (yes to reusing!).

3) The cap of the container will be glued to our secret ‘nature object’. Clean the cap so that the glue will have a nice surface to stick on. Once you have cleaned it, dab some glue on it so we can stick our object on the cap.

4) Once the glue has dried, and the object is securely glued to the cap, place the cap back on the container and voila– you have made your secret container! We are almost done.

5) Time to get our hands dirty! Go outside to find your secret spot. Try not to place it randomly but place it somewhere discreet– the corner of your yard, under a bush, near the tree, etc. I found some soft dirt near a plant, so I decided to put mine there.

6) Once you have found your spot, dig deep enough so your container is hidden but your object is not. Place your container in the hole you’ve dug up and cover the container up with the dirt you have.

8) Congratulations! You’ve just created a key holder that is hidden in plain sight! Just make sure that you keep it a secret!
