Detroit Metro Report: March 2019

The Zumper Detroit Metro Report analyzed active listings in February 2019 across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Michigan state median one bedroom rent was $800 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Novi, MI saw rent grow $20 to $1,190 but continue to rank as the most expensive city.

Troy, MI moved up one spot to become second with rent growing $60 to $1,160.

Livonia, MI dropped to third with one bedrooms priced at $1,100.

Detroit, MI rent decreased $10 to $610 but remained the most affordable in the metro.

Pontiac, MI was second with rent at $700.

Taylor, MI followed closely with one bedrooms priced at $740.

Growth Rate

Detroit, MI was the only city with a large year over year growth rate, up 15.1%.

Taylor, MI had the fastest growing rent last month, up 5.7%.

Troy, MI followed closely behind as second with rent climbing 5.5% last month.

Pontiac, MI was third with rent jumping 4.5%.
