The Zumper Detroit Metro Report analyzed active listings in June 2019 across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Michigan state median one bedroom rent was $837 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Le plus cher

Troy, MI remained the most expensive city with rent at $1,210.

Novi, MI followed closely behind as second with one bedrooms priced at $1,200.

Dearborn, MI stayed as the third priciest city, though rent grew $40 to $1,180 last month.

Detroit, MI continued to rank as the most affordable city with rent at $610.

Pontiac, MI was second with rent at $690.

Taylor, MI rent stayed the third least expensive at $740.

Growth Rate

Livonia, MI had the fastest growing rent, up 14.6% since this time last year.

Taylor, MI rent had the second largest year over year growth rate, climbing 12.1%.

Dearborn, MI was third with rent jumping 8.3%.
