Detroit Metro Report: February 2020

The Zumper Detroit Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in January 2020 across 12 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Michigan one bedroom median rent was $820 last month.

The Most Expensive

–Birmingham was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,280.

–Ferndale rent stayed flat at $1,220 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Ann Arbor was third with rent at $1,210.

The Least Expensive

–Pontiac ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $630.

–Detroit was second with rent at $710.

–Warren ranked as the third least expensive at $720.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Detroit had the fastest growing rent, up 14.5% since this time last year.

–Westland saw rent climb 13.4%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Southfield was third with rent climbing 5.6%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Ypsdilanti had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 1.2%.

-Ann Arbor rent increased 0.8% last month, making it second.
