Detroit Metro Report: February 2019

The Zumper Detroit Metro Report analyzed active listings in January 2019 across 10 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Michigan state median one bedroom rent was $825 last month.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Le plus cher

Novi, MI continued to rank as the most expensive city, though one bedroom rent fell $20 to $1,170 last month.

Livonia, MI moved up 2 spots, and into the top 3 markets, to rank as 2nd with rent growing $60 to $1,100.

Troy, MI tied with Livonia as 2nd with rent also at $1,100.

Detroit, MI rent grew $20 to $620 but remained the most affordable in the metro.

Pontiac, MI was second with one bedrooms priced at $670.

Taylor, MI rent grew $30 to $700 but stayed the third least expensive.

Growth Rate

Dearborn, MI had the fastest growing rent since this time last year, up 16%.

Detroit, MI was second with rent climbing 14.8%.

Southfield, MI rent had the largest monthly growth rate, jumping 4.7%.

Taylor, MI followed closely behind as second with rent growing 4.5% last month.
