The Zumper Dallas Metro Report analyzed active listings in August across 14 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.
Cities Ranked By Rent
The Most Expensive
–Dallas, Texas saw rent grow $60 since last month to $1,360 and held onto it’s position as the most expensive city to rent.
–Richardson, TX was second with one bedroom units priced at $1,280.
–Irving, TX rent grew $40 to $1,190 and ranked as third most expensive.
The Least Expensive
–Mesquite, TX prices stayed stable at $670 and as the most affordable in the metro.
–Arlington, TX rent dropped $10 to $690 but remained the second least expensive.
–Grand Prairie, TX ranked as third with rent at $720.
Growth Rate
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
–Carrollton, TX rent had the largest yearly growth rate, up 13.8%.
–Fort Worth, TX followed closely behind with rent climbing 13.5%.
–Dallas, Texas was third with rent growing 11.5% since this time last year.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
–Garland, TX rent had the largest monthly growth rate, up 5.1%.
–Carrollton, TX was second with rent climbing 4.9% since last month.
–Dallas, Texas was third with rent jumping 4.6%.
