Dallas Metro Report: October 2017

The Zumper Dallas Metro Report analyzed active listings in September across 14 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas state median rent was $900 last month.

The Most Expensive

Dallas, Texas rent grew $20 to $1,380 and continued to rank as the most expensive in the metro.

Richardson, TX remained second with rent at $1,280.

Irving, TX prices, though falling $30 to $1,280, stayed as the third priciest.

The Least Expensive

Arlington, TX fell behind Mesquite this month to rank as the most affordable city with rent at $690.

Mesquite, TX rent climbed $30 to $700 and up one spot to become the 2nd least expensive in the metro.

Grand Prairie, TX prices remained the third most affordable at $720.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Dallas, Texas rent, along with being the most expensive, had the largest yearly growth rate as well, up 15%.

-Irving, TX saw rent climb 13.7% since this time last year, making it the second fastest growing.

Garland, TX ranked as third with prices up 13.5% since this time last year.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Mesquite, TX had the fastest growing rent since last month, jumping 4.5%.
