Boston Metro Report: September 2019

The Zumper Boston Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in August 2019 across 15 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Massachusetts one bedroom median rent was $1,973 last month.

Cambridge was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,600.

Boston rent stayed flat at $2,500 and ranked as the second priciest city.

Everett was third with rent priced at $2,330

Manchester ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,240.

Worcester was second with rent at $1,330.

Lowell ranked as third with rent up 5 last month to $1,460.

Revere had the fastest growing rent, up 15.3% since this time last year.

Everett saw rent climb 11.5%, making it the second fastest growing.

Framingham was third with rent growing 10.6%

Lowell, Newton, et Everett were tied for the largest monthly rental growth rate, all up 5%.

Malden rent jumped 4.8% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

Quincy ranked as third with rent up 1%.
