Boston Metro Report: September 2017

The Zumper Boston Metro Report analyzed active listings in August across 15 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.

Cities Ranked By Rent

Bostonmetro

Cambridge, MA rent stayed relatively stable since last month and also continued to be the most expensive in the metro.

Brookline, MA was just $80 behind Cambridge at $2,300 and ranked as the second priciest city.

Boston, Massachusetts was third with one bedrooms priced at $2,200.

Worcester, MA had the most affordable rent in the metro at $1,150.

Lawrence, MA rent was $1,250, making it the second least expensive city.

Brockton, MA ranked as the third most affordable city with rent just below the $1,300 threshold at $1,290.

The Fastest Growing 

Haverhill, MA rent had both the largest yearly and monthly growth rates, up 5.4% and 4.7%, respectively.

The rest of the metro cities in Boston did not see huge bumps in rent over the past month or year, with Lawrence, MA actually dropping over 15% in rent since this time last year.BostonMetro3
