Boston Metro Report: October 2017

The Zumper Boston Metro Report analyzed active listings in September across 16 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent was $1,763 last month.

Le plus cher

Cambridge, MA rent, though dropping $40 to $2,340 last month, continued to rank as the most expensive in the metro.

Brookline, MA had stable rent at $2,300 and stayed as the second priciest city.

Boston, Massachusetts ranked as third with rent at $2,200.

Fall River, MA had one bedrooms priced at $880, making it the most affordable city in the metro.

Worcester, MA rent was the second least expensive at $1,150.

Brockton, MA was third with one bedrooms priced at $1,290.

Growth Rate

Haverhill, MA rent was the fastest growing since this time last year, up 10.3%.

Medford, MA had the second fastest growing rent, climbing 6.7% since this time last year.

Medford, MA rent also had a large monthly growth rate, up 4.3%.

Lawrence, MA was second with rent growing 4% since last month.
