Boston Metro Report: January 2020

The Zumper Boston Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in December 2019 across 22 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Massachusetts one bedroom median rent was $1,879 last month.

–Cambridge was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,750.

–Boston rent grew 3.6% to $2,590 and ranked as the second priciest.

–Medford was third with rent at $2,310.

–Dover ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,220.

–Worcester was second with rent at $1,260.

–Manchester saw rent grow 4.9% to $1,280 and rank as the third least expensive.

–Woburn had the fastest growing rent, up 15.2% since this time last year.

–Malden saw rent climb 14.9%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Cambridge was third with rent jumping 10.0%.

–Medford rent climbed 5.0% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Manchester ranked as third with rent jumping 4.9%.
