Boston Metro Report: December 2019

The Zumper Boston Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in November 2019 across 17 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Massachusetts one bedroom median rent was $1,861 last month.

–Cambridge was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $2,640.

–Boston rent decreased 1.2% to $2,500 and ranked as the second priciest city.

–Everett was third with rent at $2,270.

–Manchester ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $1,220.

–Worcester was second with rent at $1,250.

–Nashua rent was $1,370, making it third.

–Malden had the fastest growing rent, up 15.8% since this time last year.

–Chelsea saw rent climb 13.3%, making it the second fastest growing.

–Framingham was third with rent growing 8.4%.

–Manchester had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.2%.

–Medford rent jumped 4.8% last month, making it the second fastest growing.

–Chelsea ranked as third with rent up 2.6%.
