Austin Rent Prices Mapped This Winter (February 2017)

Dropping two spots this month, Austin ranked as the 28th most expensive city to rent in the nation. The price of one bedroom units decreased 3.4% to a median of $1,130, while two bedroom units fell 2.1% to $1,430.

Downtown Austin ($1,920), Old West Austin ($1,700), East Cesar Chavez ($1,600) were the most expensive neighborhoods to rent. Close behind and tied for fourth, Holly and Zilker were the next priciest areas, with median rents of $1,580 for one bedroom units. Rentals for less than $1,000 a month could be found in Montopolis, Pleasant Valley, and Windsor Park.
