Austin Neighborhood Rent Prices Mapped (Summer 2017)

Climbing 2 spots this month, Austin ranked as the 33rd most expensive rental market in the nation. The price of one bedroom units grew 3.8% to a median of $1,080, while two bedrooms jumped 4.5% to $1,380.

Downtown Austin was the most expensive neighborhood to rent this summer with one bedrooms priced at a median of $1,950. A few hundred dollars behind, Holly ($1,640) and East Cesar Chavez ($1,600) were the next priciest areas. Mid-range priced rentals, around $1,000, could be found in Brentwood, St. Edwards, and McKinney.

On the other end of the cost spectrum, Heritage Hills, Montopolis, and Franklin Park were the most affordable neighborhoods to rent with one bedrooms priced under $800.
