Moving up one spot this month, Atlanta became the 18th most expensive rental market in the nation, now ahead of Portland, Denver, and Pittsburgh. The price of one bedroom units grew 2.3% to $1,360, while two bedrooms increased a slight 0.6% to $1,700.
While South Downtown and Garden Hills had the fastest growing rents since last quarter, both up over 12%, Peachtree Heights West and West Lake saw the biggest rent dips, both down around 12%.
This fall, Midtown and South Tuxedo Park were tied for the most expensive neighborhood with rents both priced at $1,750. Colonial, Cabbagetown, and Inman Park were the next priciest areas. The most affordable rentals, all priced below $650, could be found in West Lake, Grove Park, and Hunter Hills.
