The Zumper Atlanta Metro Report analyzed over 11,000 active listings in November across the 11 most populated cities in the Atlanta area to highlight the most expensive cities and those with the fastest growing rents.
Cities Ranked By Rent

–Atlanta, Géorgie topped the list as the most expensive city in the metro area with a median price of $1,330 for one bedroom units. While other metro areas, like Denver ou Dallas, have rents in the surrounding metro area that are more expensive than within city limits, that is not the case in Atlanta. Prices in Atlanta are more than $400 above the state median of $919.
–Johns Creek, GA was more than $100 behind Atlanta, coming in as the second most expensive city to rent in the Atlanta metro area. One bedroom units were priced at a median of $1,210.
–Sandy Springs, GA was the third priciest city to rent, with the median price for a one bedroom unit at $1,190. Rents here came in at nearly $200 more expensive than the state median.
–Alpharetta, GA followed closely behind Sandy Springs with median prices coming in just thirty dollars less at $1,160.
Cities Ranked By Y/Y% Change
–Smyrna, GA had the fastest growing rent prices during the last year, as median prices for one bedroom apartments were up 13.9% since last year.
–Roswell, GA followed closely behind with one bedroom rents growing 11.6% since last year.
–Dunwoody, GA was the third city with the fastest growing rents, with prices up 9.8% since last year.
