Fall is officially here, which means a whole new batch of festivals and events are getting ready to take over the Seattle. Looking for a few fun things to do in the upcoming months? Check out this list of 8 Seattle events to get you ready for the fall.
Best of the Northwest
November 9 – 11

This year marks the 30th anniversary of this art and fine craft show. Featuring over 115 local artists and artisans, the Best of Northwest is held in Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park. Grab lunch and a coffee at the food trucks stationed at the park and enjoy perusing through arts and crafts made by Seattle’s local artists.
Brew at the Zoo
October 4

Looking for a fun way to support wildlife conservation? Grab tickets for Brew at the Zoo and enjoy beer and cider from more 60 craft breweries and cideries. Your ticket will cover 7 samples and a portion of the proceeds will go to Woodland Park Zoo’s conservation efforts. Bring some friends and spend a night at the zoo at this after-hours event.
Olympia Film Festival
November 9 – 17

Located just under 2 hours outside of Seattle, Olympia is home to the Olympia Film Festival. Now in its 35th year, the film festival attempts to offer the best experience to its attendees, panelists, and moviemakers. It showcases films created by independent movie makers, hosts panelist discussions, features special guest performances. Most of the films are screened at The Capitol Theater, along with a few smaller venues in the Olympia area.
WildLights
November 23 – January 5

Head to the Woodland Park Zoo and check out all the WildLights events taking place this holiday season. Buy tickets in advance, beginning November 1, and get ready for fake snowball fights, glimmering and colorful light displays, and strolling around the zoo with some hot cocoa in hand. Purchase your tickets before December 14th and save a few bucks with the early bird prices.
Seattle Restaurant Week
October 21 – November 8
It’s that time of year again! Try the very best restaurants in Seattle at this two week-long event that takes over the city. This year, over 165 local restaurants are offering 3-course meals for just $33. This is the perfect time to go to that expensive spot you’ve always wanted to try, but without breaking the bank. TWIST: Seattle Queer Film Festival
October 12 – 21
You won’t want to miss this one; TWIST is the largest event of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. Originally called the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, TWIST showcases the very best and latest in queer film. With documentaries and films highlighting everything from queer history to modern-day queer experiences, this event knows how to draw a crowd of more than 10,000 every year. Grab tickets for individual showings or buy a festival pass to get access to everything the event has to offer.
Oktoberfest Northwest
October 5 – 7

Raise your stein and celebrate this German tradition with an ice cold beer. Hosted at the Washington State fair grounds, this is the largest Munich-style Oktoberfest in the state, bringing in over 25,000 attendees annually. This celebration features lots of events throughout the weekend, including a Hammerschlagen tournament, live music, Weiner dog races, a root beer run, and plenty of authentic, German-style beers. Don’t forget to grab a bratwurst, Bavarian pretzel, or a schnitzel while you’re at it , and enjoy the celebration.
BOREALIS, a Festival of Lights
October 11 – 14

Get ready for this inaugural event held at Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry. This international showcase of light art is bound to be a fun experience for the whole family. Catch one of the four video projection performances and enjoy more than 20 light art installations created by local and international artists. Admission is free, but a ticket is required to see the video projection mapping showcase, so grab them before you go.
