D.C. Metro Report: May 2018

The Zumper D.C. Metro Report analyzed active listings in April across 8 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The state median one bedroom rent was $1,475.

The Most Expensive

–Washington, DC climbed up one spot, outpacing Arlington, to become the most expensive city in the metro with rent at $2,200.

–Arlington, VA was dethroned, now ranking as the second priciest city with one bedrooms priced at $2,130.

–Bethesda &  Reston, VA tied for third with rents both at $1,910.

The Least Expensive

–Frederick, MD saw rent climb $10 to $1,200 but remained the most affordable in the metro.

–Silver Spring, MD was second with rent at $1,640.

–Alexandria, VA continued to rank as third with one bedrooms priced at $1,690.

Growth Rate

–Reston, VA was the only city to have a substantial year over year growth rate, climbing 15.8%.
