Mercedes does an amazing job cleaning! I always see her working super hard around the complex. Gabriel has always helped me with any maintenance I need done in my apartment, while going above and beyond! I also want to mention they are both really nice. I appreciate both of them! However, the trash utility bill is crazy high and fluctuates every month which doesn’t make sense to me.

Great Community: Exceptional Staff, from Management to Maintenance I moved from another Essex property two months ago because I loved living there, and I appreciate how fair the business practices of the company are. The Village at Toluca Lake is no exception. Because of my quick move and some unfortunate luck, I've had a number of concerns I've reached out to the office for. The property management, especially Brandy who has pored much of her (what I'm sure is busy) work day into assisting me, have been incredibly helpful, professional, patient, and above all else, kind. From before my move in to after, Brandy's attentiveness to my concerns or questions has been consistent and prompt. The stress of moving as a single female has been overwhelming, but Brandy has really made me feel comfortable and supported beyond anywhere else I've lived. There are a lot of residents who I'm sure reach out daily, but she always responds to me in a timely manner and makes me feel like time is of no concern when helping me. If I am unable to reach her by phone, she immediately calls back or responds to my voicemail through email. Even my emails have been responded to so quickly I sometimes almost miss it! I would also like to mention the maintenance team, in particular Gabriel, who has always accommodated my schedule and addressed any move-in or arising concerns with kindness and professionalism. I am not sure what the Essex business procedures are that always make their maintenance team so exceptional, but in my experiences with both Essex properties the maintenance team has really made my time living there brighter and I've always felt well-cared for. In addition, I actually like that the wifi is included with the unit- I can access wifi in common spaces such as the gym, the payment is much lower than what I could expect from an outside company, and it's included with rent. Which again, as a single female, it's difficult to keep track of all the bills at the end of the month. It's one less worry that wifi is consolidated into the apartment, as well as streamlines any arising issues through the complex (or so I imagine, I have had no issues with the wifi so far!). On top of that, the facilities are always clean, secure, and everyone living here is incredibly nice. I love talking to my neighbors. I also love the location, I walk the neighborhood everyday as part of my physical therapy and I feel safe and within walking distance of great restaurants, stores, and activities. In summation, I love living here and have had nothing but great experiences! I really feel like from my experiences with Brandy and Gabriel, the management is on my side as a tenant and truly cares about resident concerns no matter how frequently or small my concerns are. I'm really glad I chose Essex. Thank you!
