My partner and I recently visited the area looking for apartments. We came across The Colony at the Lakes Apartments after our first go around of apartment tours. With 15 mins left until their office closed, we met the wonderful Emily who was so gracious and helpful as we asked if there was a chance to take a tour that weekend. She helped us get something schedule with her the next day and we were off. Wonderful first impression of the place.
The next day we returned after viewing a few apartments earlier that day. We had the BEST experience out of all the apartments we saw that day. Emily greeted us and we were off to tour around the area. She showed us the beautiful facility which has everything that I was looking for given that I’ll be working at home. That working space is an A++. We viewed the apartment and absolutely loved it. Made it to the top of our list.
Emily did a wonderful job making us feel welcomed and being transparent with us throughout our experience. Thank you so much for all your help! Looking forward to working with you more!

Stephanie is amazing and always goes above and beyond to help residents! I accidentally dropped my AirPod onto downstairs neighbor's balcony. When I approached Stephanie, she immediately helped by contacting the neighbor and even climbed over to retrieve it for me. I am incredibly grateful for her assistance. She is the best!
David Sanchez the maintenance tech was amazing! Very nice, professional & got the job done promptly. He even cleaned after. Thank you for being so kind David. This review is only for David, not the actual property itself. We have a lot of issues within this community and for the amount of rent paid monthly this issues should’ve been addressed. Homeless vagrants walking the halls, stealing, breaking windows & checking door. We have issues with valet trash leaving trash on the floor in the hallways. I’ll save my review for another day. I've been living at the Colony at the Lake since 2021, and I've tried out both the one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. There are a couple of big reasons why I've stuck around so long:
Awesome Maintenance: These guys are on the ball! Whenever I report something on the resident portal, they're on it within a day or two. And for real urgent stuff, they show up in just an hour or two, even in the middle of the night.
Easy Move-Out: When it's time to move out, they make it super smooth. They do a pre-move-out inspection with you to estimate any potential charges, which is usually cheaper than if you brought in your own cleaning crew. Plus, they give you the chance to sort out any issues yourself before you leave.
Big shoutout to Stephanie at the leasing office—she's super quick to respond and always has the answers to my questions within a day or two.
Sure, there are a few problems like the fire alarm and parking stuff that some folks have mentioned. But I've seen the team working hard to fix these. Let’s be real, no place is perfect. But living here is great with all the perks like the pool, BBQ grills, office space, free coffee, a park for the kids, and a gym, all without having to drive out somewhere else.

My husband and I lived at the Colony at the Lakes for three wonderful years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The community is incredibly quiet and peaceful, which made it feel like a true retreat every time we came home. Whether you’re relaxing on your balcony or taking a stroll around the property, it’s clear that the management values maintaining a serene environment.
Safety was also a big priority for us, and we always felt secure living here. The complex is well-lit, the grounds are well-maintained, and we never had any issues with noise or disturbances. It’s a great place for small families or anyone looking for a calm, safe neighborhood to call home.
A huge shout-out to the staff! Stephanie especially was always professional, responsive, and quick to address any concerns. The maintenance team was always on top of it and addressed requests quick, making our time at the Colony at the Lakes hassle-free.
After three years of living there, we can honestly say that this is one of the best apartment communities we’ve ever had the pleasure of calling home. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, safe, and well-managed place to live!

Well, I understand that everyone has a different experience but my experience has been really good. I have been living at the colony since 2017, so going on 7 years now. I have gone through several management changes some great some just ok but the over all communication with the leasing office has always been positive. I guess one has to understand that we do live in a large building with a lot of different types of people, some clean and some not so clean. That’s just life, it is not a reflection on the leasing office. They always try to do their best to keep the property well kept. The few times that I have needed maintenance in my apartment, it has been taking case of rather quickly so there’s no complain there and I appreciate that. The colony overall is relatively safe, obviously it wont be 100% safe but what place is? Like I said before, my experience has been positive and I hope that it continues to be that way. I just hope people understand that Home is whatever you make of it.

Virgil is the absolute best! My partner and I are moving across the country and are unable to view the apartments in-person, but Virgil has been a wealth of knowledge and provided us with detailed answers to each and every one of our questions. He made us comfortable in making a quick decision and is somehow a magician in being able to assign our preferred apartment to us! Despite how busy the leasing office was, Virgil was incredibly communicative and never once seemed rushed when chatting with me on the phone. Our decision to apply here was due to their hard product, but we were ultimately sold by the kindness and professionalism of Virgil and the rest of the folks we spoke with. We’re excited to become residents!
Two years ago my fiancé and I decided to make Colony at The Lakes our home. We were pregnant and needed our own space. The moment we walked through those glass doors and viewed that pool surrounded by palm trees and day beds we knew this resort style oasis would be our home. Two years flew by and we knew we needed a bigger place. At first it didn’t cross our minds to stay at The Colony simply because we thought we wouldn’t qualify for a bigger place. However, I was completely wrong. I emailed Stephanie and explained to her how we’ve enjoyed our stay at The Colony but needed a bigger place and she right away made us feel at ease and reassured that her and the rest of the management team would make it work. The transfer process was definitely way easier compared to applying for the first time. Thanks to Stephanie, Virgil, and even Leo and Teresa they made sure my family and I continue to have a pleasant experience at The Colony and that our needs were met.
Thanks again to the whole Colony Management team. They’re amazing and true definition of customer service. Thank you Stephanie, Virgil, Leo, Teresa and the rest of the management team you all always come through when we have questions or need any kind of help.
