From the first viewing, to move in day, everything was on point and easy. I commend the staff at Pembroke Towers, all of them for their professionalism, honesty, and effort. This was by far my smoothest transition to date, especially with two kids in tow. Congratulations to all of you for running a first class operation.
My experience at Pembroke Towers has exceeded my expectations!! The staff from management to housekeeping are friendly and helpful. My move from a 3,000 sq. foot home to a 1,000 sq. foot apartment was made easier with staff suggestions (I got a 2 bed 2 bath) and with setting up a moving date and the details. The location is also great because of its closeness to the Hague, downtown, medical complexes and Colley Avenue's restaurant corridor. I would suggest this building to anyone needing a place to feel like home!
Rooms are huge! My review is more for the IMMACULATE view seen from each room Daytime and Night! The water is so soothing to get your walk, run or just chill out with your DOG! The staff are all awesome and attentive to your needs! They have an awesome pool as well to swim away the heat lol …. Come be my neighbor you won’t regret it!

I loved living at Pembroke Towers! The staff is great, very helpful, and friendly. The location is awesome--located in Ghent and close to downtown Norfolk with many restaurant options and food stores. It's also a great location if you're commuting to downtown or the Naval Station. Parking is FREE and plentiful. My apartment came with a balcony with a stunning view of downtown and the USS Wisconsin--great spot to watch the fireworks on fourth of July or harbor fest. Maintenance is great too, any issue I had was promptly resolved. I highly recommend.

I currently just moved in a few weeks ago. It is perfect location. They are in process of renovating which is nice to see the changes. If you want upscale and fancy new amenities then this is not your place. I love that it is decently priced , close to everything I need, staff is outstanding and I enjoy the people living in the building. Very safe and feels like home not a hotel.

I first moved to Pembroke Towers in 1992 and still remain as a satisfied tenant.
Before coming here, I lived in Virginia Beach. One thing I have learned is that I am more of a Norfolk person than a Virginia Beach person.
I also rediscovered my love of the historic Ghent section of Norfolk. It all began when I attended Blair Junior High School, now named as Blair Middle School, back in the 1960s.
Norfolk is my home. Ghent is my home in Norfolk. And Pembroke Towers is my home in the Ghent section of Norfolk.
As a single person and senior citizen, I rent a studio apartment unit that has just the right amount of space to suit my needs. My walk-in closet provides me with plenty of space for my clothes and storage as well.
I've seen a lot of changes at Pembroke Towers during my stay. The most prominent change has been a new management company that has been adding new renovations and amenities since they took over.
We now have an exercise room, a social room with a TV, and free WiFi in the lobby. The hallway on my floor has just been beautifully renovated.
The staff members have been friendly and supportive. The maintenance team members are always responsive to my needs and take care of any problems that arise.
The following are some of the things I love about living at Pembroke Towers:
The Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is located right across the street, and I can walk there in about five minutes. This has come in handy many times.
One day last year, I was having symptoms of a medical emergency. I immediately walked on over to their ER and was admitted for an overnight stay. Fortunately, my symptoms turned out to be a false alarm.
My physician told me that I did the right thing by walking on over. He told me that an ambulance probably would not have been able to reach me in five minutes. If my symptoms were serious, this could have been a life saver.
I can walk to my dentist and primary care physician in about thirty minutes. I am in easy walking distance from several of my favorite Ghent restaurants and a local grocery store.
My unit provides me with a beautiful and spectacular balcony view of the Hague and the Norfolk City skyline. A photo from a recent December morning is included.
I love being able to walk to the Chrysler Museum and viewing the beautiful homes along the way.
I can walk to the Tide station at Fort Norfolk in about five minutes. This comes in handy whenever I want to go to downtown Norfolk and don't feel like driving, especially at night.
All of this walking provides me with plenty of exercise, and I can actually get by without a car. I also love the additional exercise our outdoor pool provides during the summer.
I have found the new management team members to be very proactive in the steps they are taking to maintain and improve my level of satisfaction in living at Pembroke Towers.
When it comes to living in Norfolk,. I don't want to live anywhere else.

I've lived here for three years now and they've been getting better and better! The location is very close to the EVMS campus and relatively good for the price too. The staff is friendly and always helpful when I have a concern. The back of the parking lot tends to flood when the tide is high or when there's a lot of rain, but that's most of Norfolk. You'll be fine as long as you're aware and park somewhere else during hurricanes. All in all, I definitely recommend!
I've lived @ Pembroke Towers for many years and the building does have issues due to its age especially with the convector system as previous commentators have mentioned. The heat & A/C are not climate controlled and in my opinion that's the biggest drawback to life at this highrise. However, the staff are excellent and my experience has been that they are usually pretty responsive to maintenance requests and to other issues brought to their attention. The building has unique architecture, it's located in an upscale and historic area, there are medical facilities near by, the balconies are huge comparatively, and in my opinion the sunsets and moonscapes on the southwest side of the building are worth the rent. My apartment was renovated 2 years ago and the modernization and granite countertops are a big improvement over the older, original layout. No place is perfect but I stay here because it's home and because there's something about living up in the air.
